Transitional Shelter

Thomas House provides transitional rent-free shelter in 20 fully furnished apartment units with food, supplies, and clothing. Families receive weekly groceries and supplies from our on-site food pantry, and new or gently used clothing from community vouchers and donations.

Case Management

We empower our families through weekly one-on-one, personalized case management meetings [needs assessments, goal development, and linkage & referrals (legal services), weekly parenting classes, financial education, budgeting, and ongoing access to childcare.

Career Development

We support our parents through our Career Development Services with job development skills, resume building, interview practice, and connection to community resources (community college, adult education, & certifications) to obtain full-time employment.

Youth Development

Our Youth Development Program provides our school-aged youth with homework assistance, individual tutoring, school supplies, and computer access as well as counseling, mentoring, and sports and enrichment programs.

Teen Case Management

Our one-on-one Teen Case Management empowers teens to overcome social and emotional obstacles by setting goals related to college, identifying potential careers, increasing their financial literacy, and developing healthy life skills.

Food Pantry

No family should go hungry. Dive into our Food Pantry services, providing essential support during challenging times.

Housing Navigation

Our Housing Navigation services help families secure safe and stable housing. Our Housing Navigator connects individuals with resources, guide them through applications, and advocate for their needs. We assess rent burden, offer application support, inspect habitability, and facilitate landlord communication. We also review leases and help secure unit and utility deposits. Our goal is to remove housing barriers and assist with locating secure, affordable housing.

Mental Health Services

Thomas House contracts with mental health service providers to provide counseling to our adults and youth in need. Parents are
required to attend ten counseling sessions, and many continue beyond the minimum requirement.

Who is eligible for services at Thomas House?

We define a family as any adult(s) with a custodial relationship with children. This includes families of all compositions and can include multi-generational families.
