What began with one selfless act of compassion by Mary and Bernie Selz has grown into a movement that has touched the lives of thousands. For 40 years, Thomas House Family Shelter has been more than a place to stay—it’s been a place to heal, to grow, and to start over.

From that first apartment rented for a family in need to now serving over 65 families annually with housing, therapy, career support, youth programs, and prevention services—our story is one of community-powered transformation.

This milestone isn’t just about time. It’s about people. It’s about every donor who believed in second chances. Every staff member who walked beside a family through crisis. Every volunteer, board member, intern, partner, and graduate who helped build what Thomas House is today.

This is your celebration, too.

Join us for our Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive. By donating backpacks, notebooks, pencils, school uniforms, or giving a monetary gift, you’re ensuring that every child in our program starts the school year with confidence, and the resources they deserve.

November Food Drive

Join us for our Annual November Food Drive! We’ll be collecting canned goods and nonperishable food items all month long to help restock our pantry and ensure families at Thomas House have access to nourishing meals.
